Tournament Registration Request

Here are tournament registration request forms, each of which will be specific to a tournament on a different schedule.

General Information

#1. Eligibility Each year, Honor Academy students participate in approximately 30-40 tournaments with Honor Academy or with their own schools. For most cases, our students will know which tournaments they are eligible for as this is commonly covered during class. However, with rare cases, we need to see the students' progress longer until closer the tournament. You may still pay for the tournament early to ensure a guaranteed opportunity, and we will issue a refund if we suggest your child skip a tournament. #2. Schedules Beware that all the schedules are "TENTATIVE". Often times the tournaments are run behind the schedule. -One Day tournaments: If the tournament is scheduled to be on one day, all the rounds are guaranteed and mandatory. Missing a round will be considered to be a FORFEIT. One-day tournaments usually have four or five preliminary rounds, and the rankings will be announced based on the number of wins and the speaker points. -Two or Three Day tournaments: These tournaments are take place on schedules that are Sat-Sun, Sat-Mon, or Fri-Sun. These tournaments will hold both preliminary rounds AND elimination rounds. Usually the first day will be a full-day commitment while the second or their day will be based on how many elims you will have, and it's all based on each student/team's performance. However, some of them can have debate events on one day and speech events on another day. #3. ONLINE Tournaments Students can compete from home using their own device. Most online speech and debate competitions take place on a video solution NSDA CAMPUS developed by National Speech and Debate Association. Students and judges have access to the video solution by logging in at tabroom.com unless otherwise specified. #4. IN-PERSON Tournaments Please drop your child 1 hour prior to the first round on each competition day. Refer to the schedule if available. Parents do NOT need to stay with the student unless otherwise requested. #5. Registration Process Each tournament has its unique way to manage registrations and their own policies, and some of them are simple while some others may require multiple additional documents. Some tournaments may issue penalty fines and/or high fees for late request. Please understand that Honor Academy does NOT have any controls on the tournament policies, and we are required to comply with their policies. Please make sure to review the form closely.
