Sterling College

Sterling. Community. Servant Leadership.

Sterling College is a Christ-centered, four-year liberal arts college located in Sterling, Kansas, with a mission "to develop creative and thoughtful leaders who understand a maturing Christian faith."

Founded in 1887 the College embraces an emerging vision to serve God's world through Christ-centered servant-leadership training. Sterling has the nation's first undergraduate program in Social Entrepreneurship and the development of future leaders through strategic partnerships with Habitat for Humanity International.

The word ‘sterling' means quality. At Sterling College, quality is found in community and servant leadership. The Sterling community challenges students to rethink what college is about. Pursuing academic excellence is a priority as well as developing a thriving community of "doers" - students who really want to get involved whether on the football field, the performance stage, or in the mission fields in places like Africa, China, and the Middle East. Sterling students help make a difference in the world. Sterling students come to live a leader's life, grow to understand a servant's heart, and learn to change the world.

During the fall of 2008 there was a total enrollment of 652 students, with students from 28 states and 7 countries.

Sterling College is fully-accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Sterling College is a member of the Council for Christian Colleges & Universities.

"So if I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet. For I have given you an example that you also should do as I have done to you."
John 13:14-15
