| HISTORY
OF TEEN MANIA |
 |
In the summer
of 1985, Ron Luce, president and founder of
Teen mania, and his wife, Katie sought out
to change the world. Their desire was to take
the Gospel to the nations, specifically to
those who had never heard before. While on
a six-month mission trip, God began to break
their hearts for the teenager of America.
Torn between a heart for the world and heart
for young people, they returned to the United
States to spark a revolution that would become
known as Teen Mania.

The Revolution Begins
In 1986 Ron and Katie began traveling across America to
rally teenagers with the vision of forsaking the American
dream to take the Gospel to the ends of the earth. These
small church rallies grew into stadium events, reaching
over 250,000 people every year, and are know today as
BattleCry and Acquire the Fire.
In the summer of 1987, Ron and Katie took their first
group of teenagers to the mission field of Guatemala.
That summer began the tradition of summer mission trips,
known today as Global Expeditions. Since its beginning,
this part of the ministry has seen over 1.2 million people
gibe their lives to Christ.
The Launch of the Honor Academy
Ron began the internship with the desire to see young
people gain direction and Godly character for their lives.
This intensive discipleship program trains teenagers of
today to become the leaders of tomorrow. Each year more
than 800 young men and women take part in developing themselves
spiritually, professionally, and emotionally through the
Honor Academy. |
